Pariat Hotel Danang, Vietnam Review | The biggest scam

Pariat Hotel Danang, Vietnam – this hotel is quite possibly the worst experience of hotels I have ever had to endure in my entire life. I booked by stay through Expedia and paid extra to get a room with a lakeside view; when I arrived I was given a room with a sliver of lakeside view and I requested a room with lakeside view and was told that I had to pay an extra 400,000 VND (Vietnamese Dong). I was on holiday in a foreign country so didn’t really want to kick up a big fuss let the Pariat Hotel spoil my trip. The guy at the reception seems very well versed in charging guest extra for their room; he had a calculator out and was punching out numbers and was trying to extract as much as he could from me even though I had paid for a room with lakeside view. It seemed like charging guest extra was his full time job and he was getting a commission on every additional add-on that he could sel.

He showed me to the upgraded room which cost me 400,000 VND extra even though I had already paid for one so the Pariat Hotel was selling the same horse twice. This is Expedia for you. I am on holiday and was determined not to let this incident spoil my trip. After showing me to my room he told me to wait there and will get somebody to bring up my room card; I waited 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes and still no sign of everyone…. This is summer and the room had no air-conditioning and I was drenched so I decided to go up to the swimming pool to try to cool down…. The whole place was a mess… no staff, no towels, the equipment in the gym didn’t work or was broken.  Eventually somebody turned up and I asked him whether I could order a fresh coconut and unbelievably the guy told me to go next door. This is the first time in my entire life when I try to order something at a hotel and be told to go next door.  This was the level of service I am dealing with…. I was flabbergasted…

This is the link to Pariat Hotel at Expedia

I try to relax at the swimming pool with no coconut, no drinks, no service and eventually realised that I was not really going to get served ever…. my room card still hadn’t turned up until now so I go downstairs to reception to get my card and some idiot tells me that my card is in my room… and I ask him how am I supposed to get into my room when the key is inside? At this juncture, I lash out  at these idiots and say that I am not happy with everything….

Later in the evening, I go out to meet a client.

I return to the hotel around 8:45pm and then at around 9:15 pm I try to order room service through reception by dialing 0 and then the receiption tell me to call 123… I asked them whether they can put me through and they said no – this is how unhelpful these people are…. they told me that the restaurant closes at 10pm… I call 123 and it’s 9:18pm and they told me that the restaurant is closed and that if I wanted to room service I needed to call 3 hours in advance – who calls 3 hours in advance for room service??  Which planet are these people on…. I then call reception and asked them whether they could order something for me from outside which I would pay for… they told me to go on the Internet to search for places and then order by myself……. I then explained that I don’t know Vietnamese, I don’t know my way around, I wouldn’t know where to begin and begged them to help me order something….  They don’t seem to have been trained in the service industry at all… yet the hotel knows how to charge International rates for the rooms.

In short, Pariat Hotel is the worst hotel experience in my entire life and I am disappointed beyond belief.

Here are some pictures of the hotel that you don’t see on Expedia, Agoda and other sites.
